Speaker: Reza Sabzevari 

Bio: Reza Sabzevari is currently a Research Scientist with Robert Bosch GmbH in Hildesheim, Germany. He received the Ph.D. degree in computer vision in 2013 from Italian Institute of Technology in Genoa. He was a postdoctoral researcher with the Robotics and Perception Group (RPG), University and ETH Zurich in Switzerland and Technology for Vision (TeV) group, Fondazione Bruno Kessler in Trento, Italy. His current line of research is focused on SLAM and Visual Odometry. His research interests include multiple-view geometry, photometric stereo, and active perception.

Brief abstract: This talk will give a short overview on Bosch activities related to computer vision, and some featured products. Bosch Corporate Sector Research and Advanced Engineering, and Bosch Center of Artificial Intelligence, will be introduced as the main drives for innovation in the company. After that, the talk will be focused on the current activities within the Computer Vision Lab in Hildesheim; among others the current challenges related to SLAM technologies.
